Walking in the Supernatural

We’re supernatural by nature. The supernatural is not some mystical, esoteric plane that we ascend into enter after several levels of preparation and prayer.
You’re supernatural here and now. You may not be manifesting the supernatural, but that doesn’t change you.

But what does it take to manifest the supernatural?

In Mark 16:17-18, just before His ascension, Jesus said to His disciples, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Firstly, these manifestations of the supernatural like snake-handling, exorcist powers, immunity, etc. are to be seen in the new converts, NOT the disciples themselves. This shows that manifesting the supernatural comes straight with salvation.

Secondly, the signs follow the Believer, not the other way round. We don’t go drinking poison and handling serpents to show we’re supernatural. Paul’s handling of a viper in Acts 28:3-5 may have served as a witnessing opportunity, but he didn’t intentionally set out looking for a snake to bite him. As noted earlier in this series, the supernatural is not for entertainment. So those “Charismatic” churches in south-eastern US where members ‘show their faith’ by handling live poisonous snakes during service aren’t as much manifesting the supernatural as much as biblical ignorance and stupidity.

Lastly, and most importantly, the key to manifesting the supernatural is Faith. Jesus said, “and these signs shall follow them that BELIEVE”. This is not belief for miracles, but the belief of salvation. Our greatest act of the supernatural was our translation from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light at the point of salvation; if we did that by faith, every other thing therefore comes by that faith. We may pray, fast, or confess; but once whatever we do leaves the realms of faith, we’ve left biblical Christianity and entered sorcery and occultism. As Col 2:6 points out, we walk in Christ just the same way we received Him: by faith.

AMEN.
More Blessings await you today; you’ll not miss them in Jesus’ Name.
